Three ways to say it
“hi! i'm really sorry but i woke up feeling terrible today, i think i've got a fever and can barely function, i'll be out today and will try to check email but no promises”
Out sick today. Back tomorrow. Will check Slack once if needed.
“hey, i'm still not feeling great and my doctor said i need a few more days of rest, i'm so sorry for the timing, i'll be back thursday at the latest”
